Introduction
        The Stock Exchange of Thailand's (SET) library was established in 1975 with the mandate to be an information center for people interested in money matters and the capital markets as well as other related topics. In 2004, to improve the image of a modern library in Thailand, the SET renovated its library's facilities to become a learning center for the new millennium and renamed it the "Maruey Knowledge and Resource Center" (MKRC)
        The re-styled library's new name, the "Maruey Knowledge and Resource Center", honors Dr. Maruey Phadoongsidhi, the renowned fifth President of the SET whose contributions to the Thai capital market still affect us today.

A modern library for a new generation
        The vision of the SET's current President, Mr. Kittiratt Na-Ranong, was to create a new-style library environment for the new generation of information seekers. This "new age library" incorporates every form of media so that it can provide the general public with a "one-stop Center" to seek information and spend their leisure time constructively. It's a "learning environment" that provides the benefits of both information and fun.         The MKRC has been renovated using the most modern concepts in library design. The Center is well-equipped with the latest in multi-media technology, and its modern style offers its users an extensive array of learning facilities all wrapped up in a spacious, comfortable, welcoming atmosphere. The MKRC's state-of-the-art multi-media equipment permits users to conduct information searches effortlessly, make wireless connections to the Internet, provide (in "the fun zone") access to big screen televisions, movies, breaking news programs, live seminars and an assortment of music. The MKRC also has a coffee corner and the Settrade.com book shop where visitors can enjoy interesting books while drinking delicious coffee.

Fulfillment of Learning
        The MKRC can accommodate far more visitors than in past within its new, spacious 688 sq. meter facilities and its 228 comfortable seats.
        The Center has two floors full of modern services. The first floor provides ample space for activities in a relaxed atmosphere where visitors can read interesting books while drinking their favorite coffees. The second floor provides space and facilities in the 'Total Silence Zone' so that visitors conducting serious research can study the many available materials in peace and quiet.
        The Center provides various sections which include all types of media, e.g., books, newspapers, journals, television, radio, DVDs, VCDs and CD-ROMs for youth, investors and the general public alike.
        In addition to the above resources, the MKRC also provides modern computers with Internet connections so that visitors can "surf the net" for needed information. The MKRC also provides, for visitors with laptop computers, high-speed wireless Internet (Wi-Fi) access that effectively covers the Center's entire working area.
        The newly-renovated library provides modern facilities and extensive services with a welcoming and relaxing atmosphere for youth, investors, and the general public alike.
        And a final important point: the Center is open to the public daily from 08.30 hrs. to 23.00 hrs. with expanded service until 24:00 hrs. on Saturdays and Sundays. These extended visiting hours provide all our visitors, but especially working people, with the additional time they need to use our services after work in the evenings. This is definitely a new style of library. We are honored to be able to offer you library services that have "Never Before Been Offered in Thailand".
